Intermediate Accountant

Cross & Company, Chartered Professional Accountants, is seeking an intermediate accountant with a degree in accounting, preferably with a minimum of two years public practice experience.  

Duties would include but not be limited to the following: 
  • Bookkeeping and data entry
  • Preparation of Notice to Reader and Review Engagements  
  • Preparing personal tax returns 
  • Preparing government returns such as GST, PST, and WorkSafeBC 

Prerequisites we would appreciate: 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office  
  • Experience with Simply Accounting and/or QuickBooks  
  • Experience with Profile 
  • Experience with Caseware Working Papers and Time 
  • Confidence in your interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work independently within deadlines 
  • Work well in a team environment

Bookkeeper

We are looking for a full-time bookkeeper to join our team and work one on one with our clients to provide full service bookkeeping services.

A list of duties would include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Monthly bookkeeping for multiple clients
  • Preparing bank and other ledger reconciliations
  • Preparing files for year-end preparation
  • Bi-weekly payroll preparation for clients
  • Monthly source deduction calculations for government remittances
  • Preparation of T4’s 
  • Preparation of government filings including GST, PST and WorkSafe
  • Providing assistance to clients learning to prepare bookkeeping
  • Training future bookkeeping staff as well as clients
  • Regular written and oral communication with clients
  • Assisting administration as needed

A list of the prerequisites we require:
  • Minimum one year experience with full fiscal year bookkeeping for one or more businesses.
  • Proficient with Simply Accounting and/or QuickBooks software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word & Excel
  • Experience with tax preparation software is an asset
  • Confidence in your interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently within deadlines
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Ability to teach others in a positive manner
  • Ability to work overtime during personal tax season
